The Kentaro Group announced two prominent additions. From mid-March, Stefan Fueg will arrive to strengthen the London office of the Swiss sports rights agency. The 44-year-old, who has been vice-president for marketing & sales with IMG in Munich for the past 12 years, will take on the responsibility of the worldwide hospitality and sponsorship areas with Kentaro.
“Kentaro has gained one of the most renowned sports business experts by appointing Stefan Fueg,” said CEO Philipp Grothe. “His years of experience and excellent contacts will help us to further increase our worldwide growth in the coming months.”
Fueg has enjoyed a successful career in the world of sports. After completing college in 1984, he spent 10 years as a professional tennis player on the ATP-Tour before founding his own marketing and events agency in 1995. Two years later, he joined IMG where he, among other things, was actively responsible for the corporate hospitality at UEFA Euro 2008, as well as at numerous winter sports events. Furthermore, he worked as the manager of Tommy Haas and was the sales representative of superstars like Roger Federer, Venus Williams and John McEnroe.
He is now looking forward to a new challenge. “Within a short time frame, Kentaro has established itself as one of the leading sports rights agencies,” said the Nuremberg-born Fueg. “It is an honour for me to play my part in furthering this positive development.”
Christian Koch has also been part of the Kentaro Group since February 2009. The 33-year-old Sports Management graduate, who during the last six years was responsible for multiple football projects at the International Sports Agency AG (ISA) in Switzerland, will also strengthen the London office.
