Ultimate Rugby Sevens, the interactive media channel dedicated to Sevens rugby, is set to provide fans of the game with an unparalleled level of coverage for the forthcoming Sevens World Cup thanks to the development of a range of creative content.
The website, which launched earlier this year, gives fans of the game a devoted source of information on everything Sevens. It will run a collection of exclusive and unique content during the course of the three day tournament including innovative live text commentary of all games, a regular diary in the lead up to and during the tournament from England star Tom Varndell and an exclusive blog from the England women’s team.
The site will also offer people live video streaming of every game from the tournament via the IRB’s official Sevens World Cup website and has secured exclusive pre-tournament interviews with England’s Head Coach Ben Ryan and flanker Chris Cracknell. Finally, the site will also offer a constant stream of Twitter updates live from the tournament.
With the England men’s and women’s teams among the favourites for the respective tournaments, this year’s Sevens World Cup is set to receive its highest ever level of interest as the sport grows in popularity worldwide.
Tim Lacey, Founder of Ultimate Rugby Sevens, said:
“Interest levels in the game have risen greatly over the past few years and so demand for fans to be able to interact with the biggest tournament on the Sevens calendar has also increased considerably.”
“Through the interactive and social networking elements of UR7s.com we are able to offer people unprecedented coverage of the World Cup and help to unite the global community of fans.”
“With the England men’s and women’s teams both expected to do well, we are also delighted to be able to bring people up-to-date news from inside the tournament via a series of player diaries, blogs and our live text commentary.”
