Fox Sports will show live matches from each competition each matchday and will also broadcast comprehensive highlights and games on a delayed basis. The UEFA Champions League media rights for 2009-12 will also include the UEFA Super Cup 2009, 2010 and 2011. In addition, football fans in the region will also be able to follow the very best of European club football on the internet and on mobile. A further statement in relation to free-to-air rights will be made by UEFA in due course.
New deals
"UEFA is delighted to confirm these new deals for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League with Fox Sports," said UEFA. "In recent seasons the best of European club football has featured many star players from Central and Latin America and this has fuelled local interest in both competitions. UEFA is very confident that these new deals will deliver significant exposure and promotion for each competition over the next three seasons and UEFA very much looks forward to developing its relationship with Fox Sports.
UEFA thanks
"At the same time, UEFA wishes to thank ESPN for its contribution and commitment to both competitions in the region during recent seasons. Although ESPN will not be UEFA's broadcast partner in Central and Latin America after season 2008/09, they have been a highly valued partner of UEFA and have done a great job of broadcasting both competitions."
