Dunlop Squash to sponsor African Squash Open Championships
 20/03/2009

Dunlop Squash announced their sponsorship of the third annual African Squash Open Championships, due to be held in Lagos, Nigeria. The tournament will take place from 23rd to 29th August 2009, with Dunlop as the Official Equipment Supplier for the event.

The African Squash Open Championships is the biggest squash tournament held in Africa, and is set to become an annual event rotated around various African countries. This year’s event will be broadcast live to the whole world via cable giant SuperSports and also streamed live via the Professional Squash Association (PSA) website for online viewers. The tournament has grown to become the premier squash event in Africa, and organisers expect to see a large contingent of the world’s top 20 players participating in this event this year.

Dunlop’s Group Product Manager for Squash, Matthew Shuker commented on the deal; “Dunlop is pleased to be associated with the African Squash Open Championships for 2009. Dunlop is committed to supporting squash at all levels, and with such a strong sponsorship portfolio, our position as the world's number one squash brand cannot be questioned."

Dunlop’s current stable of top 11 world ranked ambassadors include world number two Amr Shabana, Gregory Gaultier (ranked 3rd), Nick Matthew (ranked 5th) and Ong Beng Hee (ranked 11th), all of them endorsing Dunlop Aerogel 4D technology.
