FEI Launches New Web Video Platform
 20/03/2009

The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) launches its new broadband based video platform FEI.TV in cooperation with UK based digital media specialist Perform, a renowned innovator and driving force in commercializing sport and entertainment content across digital platforms to worldwide audiences.

This unique video website, www.feitv.org, enables the global horse-sport community to watch and enjoy high quality video from the world’s most prestigious equestrian events from one central place.

FEI.TV will offer professionals, media and fans the very best of the sport, including coverage from:

• Rolex FEI World Cup TM Jumping
• HSBC FEI World Cup TM Eventing
• FEI World Cup TM Dressage and Driving
• Meydan FEI Nations Cup TM

Special prominence will be given to the major continental Championships including, the Alltech FEI European Championships Jumping & Dressage 2009, the HSBC FEI European Championships Eventing 2009 and, of course, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010.

FEI.TV combines live coverage, video on demand, highlights, interviews and equestrian lifestyle features and incorporates an archive area which enables visitors to look back at favourite rider and horse career-defining moments. The 22nd March 2009 sees the first live coverage event - this season’s final qualifier of the Rolex FEI World Cup TM Jumping at ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NED).

FEI.TV can be accessed through a combination of free-to-air and subscription; content can also be downloaded for quick and easy user access.

Says Alex McLin, FEI Secretary General, “As the international governing body of equestrian sport, it has long been our ambition to find a way of allowing the millions of horsesport enthusiasts from around the world the opportunity of watching the finest FEI events any time, any place.

We are very optimistic that this platform will not only deliver an excellent service to our existing community but that it will also enable us to reach out for new target groups and in particular strengthen the relationships with younger audiences.”

Adds Christian Osterode, FEI Commercial Manager and Project Leader: “FEI.TV is a thrilling development as it brings all the beauty and excitement of our sport literally to our fingertips. With FEI.TV, the best of equestrian sport is now only one click away.”
