Footballs World Series, (FWS) the organisers behind the Amsterdam Tournament, Dubai Challenge and Rotterdam Super Game, have exclusively appointed Stockholm-headquartered IEC in Sports to enhance the global media rights of the tournaments.

Ambitions also extend to the launch of a new event in Asia, with several Chinese cities expressing a strong interest to host the inaugural 2009 edition.

Under the new appointment, IEC will handle global broadcast media distribution and television coordination for the Amsterdam Tournament (July 24-29 2009) Rotterdam Super Game (July 31 2009) and Dubai Challenge (January 2010) and any new future FWS events.

The Amsterdam Tournament is considered one of the most prestigious summer tournaments in European football, which was founded in 1999. Last years’ tournament saw the host team Ajax taking on Arsenal, Inter Milan and Seville, with Arsenal crowned champions.

“We see global media growth for Footballs World Series tournaments as the key to expanding the franchise. IEC’s television distribution arm has demonstrated they have the drive and experience to ensuring our matches are aired live across all five continents” announced Stuart Webb, Chairman of the Footballs World Series.

“We are extremely excited to be appointed by Footballs World Series with a global broadcast mandate for these tournaments. IEC have demonstrated in recent years through handling tours for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, that we can ensure they receive the best television distribution possible” said Jonas Persson, CEO, IEC in Sports.
