The New York Giants have sold out their least expensive seats in the $1.6 billion stadium they will share with the New York Jets starting with the 2010 National Football League season, the team said.
Fewer than 12,000 seats remain in the 82,500-seat stadium, and the franchise will soon begin offering those tickets to the 93,000 people on the Giants season-ticket waiting list.
The soldout seats went for as low as $85 a game, plus a one-time personal-seat license fee of $1,000 that gives the holder the right to buy the seat in perpetuity.
The remaining tickets are for club seats that provide additional amenities including access to carpeted, temperature- controlled lounges with leather chairs, specialty food and a variety of bars.
Seats remain in the Coaches Club section at midfield, priced at $700 a ticket, per game, plus a one-time $20,000 personal seat license fee.
Club-level seats also remain in the mezzanine sections, priced at either $400 or $500, with a personal seat license that costs either $7,500 or $12,500 per seat, the team said.
“Approximately 90 percent of our current season ticket accounts have purchased tickets in the new building, which again demonstrates that Giants fans are the most loyal in professional sports,” Giants Chief Executive Officer John Mara said in a news release.
