FIFA and the 2010 Local Organsing Committee (LOC) are this week expected to study new methods aimed at improving ticket sales for the Confederations Cup.
LOC chief executive Danny Jordaan said one of the options would be to sell tickets to big corporations who would buy them for their employees. They are also planning bulk sales and a big internal marketing drive to increase sales.
Meanwhile, with just two days remaining until the end of the first sales phase, tickets for online applications for more than one million World Cup tickets have been received.
With only 743 000 tickets available for sale at this stage, they are well over-subscribed, particularly since this excludes any applications handed in at FNB branches around the country.
