Sports boutique, ENS, has been awarded the brief for the Newham Classic 10K, the first race to be held in the 2012 Olympic Park. The race has been created by World Adventure Club which is co-owned by Olympic Gold Medalist Tessa Sanderson and will take place on April 19th 2009.
The race, which is supported by the London Borough of Newham and a family of local sponsors, will be part of a multi-cultural Fun Day in Stratford and is set to enjoy the support of numerous celebrities including Daley Thompson, Tim Campbell and Michael Watson.
Sanderson explained ‘The Newham Classic is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to say that they were the first to race on Olympic turf. Our main goals are to raise funds for charity and to have fun through running as well as showcase the incredibly exciting developments that are happening in the borough thanks to 2012.’
She added ‘We brought in ENS to handle PR for the race as I have worked with them in the past and they really know their stuff. There has been a significant amount of media interest in what we are doing and I wanted to work with an agency I knew I could trust.’
Rebecca Hopkins, MD of ENS said ‘We are delighted to be working on the Newham Classic and, of course, with Tessa. The race is a great initiative and the scope of the brief is very exciting.’
