Swine flu fears cause China to cancel IWF Grand Prix 01/06/2009 |

The International Weightlifting Federation has been informed that the 2009 China IWF Grand Prix which was due to be held in Fujian Province, China from July 26 - August 2 has been canceled.
The move follows a request from the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) to the Chinese Weightlifting Association in light of the world-wide outbreak of A(H1N1) influenza.
The IWF says plans to organise the Grand Prix next year have, however, not been abandoned.
