 03/06/2009

Apparent Gravity Media (AGM), a leading producer and distributor of action, extreme and adventure sports, and youth culture lifestyle programming is now offering international broadcasters two of the most spectacular skate and BMX action sports competitions, the CHINA INVITATIONAL and the MALOOF MONEY CUP part of the Alliance of Action Sports (Alli).

As the exclusive international distributor for Alli, the CHINA INVITATIONAL (1 x 60 min) and the MALOOF MONEY CUP (2 x 60 min) are the newest events to be distributed by AGM.

The CHINA INVITATIONAL is available for broadcast July 1, 2009. The MALOOF MONEY CUP is available for broadcast August 1, 2009. Both programs are available for all media platforms and include additional short form pieces for Web and mobile licensing throughout the international marketplace.

“We are truly excited to be bringing two of the most highly anticipated high-stakes competitions in the world of action sports to international broadcasters,” said George Krieger, CEO of Apparent Gravity Media. “The most incredible gathering of top athletic talent for skateboarding and BMX will produce intense competitions for fans of extreme sports worldwide.”

The second annual CHINA INVITATIONAL explodes with action and excitement as points leaders in the Dew Tour skateboard vert and park and BMX vert disciplines converge at the Beijing University, a 2008 Summer Olympic venue, for a world class action sports competition. Some of the top skate and BMX athletes in the world compete in the multi-day event, including 2008 Skate Vert Dew Cup champion, Pierre Luc Gagnon, skate vert legend Andy MacDonald and four-time BMX Vert Dew Cup champion Jamie Bestwick of England.. The CHINA INVITATIONAL will be broadcast this June 14, 2009 in the U.S. on NBC.

Available for the first time by AGM, the MALOOF MONEY CUP showcases the most remarkable group of street skaters ever assembled. The event hosts the largest prize purse for a single event in the history of professional skateboarding with more than $450,000 in cash and prizes. The three-day event hosts three professional U.S. Championship skateboard competitions in both men and women’s, Pro Street and men’s Pro Vert. The Maloof Money Cup features 36 of skateboarding’s most recognized champions and stars including Ryan Sheckler, Shaun White, Greg Lutzka, Paul Rodriguez, Eric Koston, Bob Burnquist, Chaz Ortiz, Andrew Reynolds and many more. The Maloof Money Cup takes place July 10-12, 2009 in Costa Mesa, Calif., and will be broadcast in the U.S. on both NBC and MTV2.
