India has formed a single national hockey federation for the men's and women's game in order to avoid losing the right to stage next year's men's World Cup.
The Indian Olympic Association said on Wednesday it would affiliate "Hockey India" to comply with the International Hockey Federation's (FIH) condition to put in place the single body, like other countries.
Eight-times Olympic men's champions India failed to qualify for last year's Beijing Games and have hired Spanish coach Jose Brasa in a bid to revive the team.
