Eurosport Group has renewed its agreement for the rights of the Vuelta, the Spanish cycling Grand Tour, for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. The race will be covered LIVE on Eurosport and Eurosport Asia-Pacific.
This agreement completes the unrivalled cycling programming offer already on Eurosport. In 2009 Eurosport covers the three Major Tours, the two UCI World Championships and the great "classics", for a total of 400 hours, including 250 hours LIVE.
Eurosport is constantly innovating its coverage of cycling, one of the pillar sports of the channel. In February Eurosport launched "Planet Armstrong", an exciting show dedicated to seven-time Tour de France winner's comeback. During Giro's three weeks of competition in May, "Planet Armstrong" was broadcast each day, in prime time.
After the Giro d'Italia, the cycling season continues on Eurosport and fans will enjoy all the best races of the calendar: Criterium du Dauphiné Libéré in June, Tour de France in July, Vuelta and UCI World Road Championships in September, Paris-Tour and Giro di Lombardia in October.
