The University of Arizona and IMG extend athletics multi-media rights partnership
 08/06/2009

The University of Arizona announced it has reached an agreement with IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, for a 5-year extension to its current long-term marketing and media partnership. The deal will make IMG College the exclusive holder of the University’s multi-media rights offerings through 2024.

IMG College, which has managed multi-media rights for The University of Arizona since 2004, will more actively represent UA head coaches for endorsements and appearances, package new basketball courtside seats with corporate sponsors, and contribute partial funding to a new football stadium scoreboard in future seasons.

“Our successful five-year relationship confirms the continued professionalism our athletic program has received from IMG in terms of marketplace growth and revenue stability,” said Jim Livengood, UA’s Director of Athletics. “The current agreement has yielded impressive results, and I know the many Wildcat corporate partners and broadcast affiliates will continue to benefit from IMG’s experienced team and global resources.”

The agreement will continue to include game broadcasts and coaches’ shows for radio and television, signage, publications, game day promotions, corporate hospitality, print literature, and Internet site management and sales.

“We appreciate this renewal and look forward to continuing our long-term partnership with The University of Arizona,” said Tom Stultz, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for IMG College. “It has been an honor to work with the University and we are excited about the initiatives we can develop to expand its successful brand.”

The 17-year guarantee, valued at more than $124 million, is one of the largest multi-media rights agreements in the Pac-10 Conference.

IMG College has helped grow The University of Arizona’s corporate partner program by more than 30 percent over the past two years.
