On the occasion of the T20 World Cup in England, DTH service provider Airtel Digital TV has launched its 10th interactive service - iSports.
This sports-based interactive service will show the current T20 World Cup series in two windows. The first window will have Live Match while the second one will have match highlights. Live matches will be offered in two languages - English and Hindi.
And in case somebody has missed the match, the highlights of the last match will be shown on the other window. Besides the Live Match and highlights, it will have on-demand info on Player and Team Stats, Tour Calendar, Results of past games and facts on cricket.
For this service , Airtel has tied up with ESPN Software India. This service is being offered to all digital TV subscribers who have opted for ESPN channel bouquet or have these channels in their subscription packs.
The ESPN bouquet is being offered at a rate of Rs 60 for three months which includes Star Cricket, Star Sports and ESPN along with iSports. The earlier price was Rs 45.
ESPN has tied up with Pizza Hut for its other interactive application iPizza, where subscribers can order pizzas. One has to select what one wants to eat and send an SMS. This service is currently available only in NCR and will be rolled out to the rest of the country shortly.
Then there is iNet which alows users to enjoy the internet experience on TV. One can get updates on the latest news, stocks from ones portfolio, Bollywood gossip and the latest weather with widgets.
iShop offers discounts exclusively for Airtel customers. Apparel, flowers, electronics, books and magazines are present on iShop. There is also the Deal of the Week.
iMatinee allows one to search for the latest movies playing at a multiplex near the user home by show timings, theatres or movie titles. One can book tickets two days in advance. The company has partnered with Book My Show to enable this service.
