UEFA has concluded the sales process for the 2009-12 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League media rights in the Netherlands.
Live and highlights
Public broadcaster NOS has been awarded the exclusive free-to-air rights to the UEFA Champions League. As a result, Ned 3 will show the first-choice live match on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (including the UEFA Champions League final and the UEFA Super Cup) as well as highlights on both nights and the UEFA Champions League weekly magazine. This announcement follows the recent confirmation of the award of the exclusive pay rights for the UEFA Champions League in the Netherlands to Sport 1.
UEFA Europa League
For the new-look UEFA Europa League, commercial free-to-air broadcaster RTL will broadcast the first and second-choice live matches each match week on RTL 7 as well as the highlights of the rest of the action from the competition. Eredivisie Live has also been awarded a significant package of UEFA Europa League rights which will see it show at least two additional UEFA Europa League matches each match week on its pay channel Eredivisie Live 1.
Internet and mobile
From the 2009/10 season, football fans in the Netherlands will also be able to access the best of European club football on the internet via www.nos.nl, www.rtl.nl and www.eredivisielive.nl as well as on mobile.
