The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) has awarded the management of the Singapore 2010 City Celebration site to Momentum, a division of McCann Worldgroup.

Momentum will develop a concept and programme that is integrated with other Games activities, carry out site operational planning and implementation for the City Celebration site. In addition, Momentum will launch a marketing and publicity campaign to promote the City Celebration site.

Around 600 on-ground crew and volunteers are expected to be recruited by Momentum to help with the smooth running of the Singapore 2010 City Celebration, to be held from early August 2010 right through the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC said, "Momentum’s proposal demonstrated a good understanding of the intent of the City Celebration site as a place for people to experience the excitement and festivity of the first Youth Olympic Games. Their proposed programme for the City Celebration incorporated the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect and given their involvement in past Olympic Games, Singaporeans and visitors can look forward to a memorable experience at the Singapore 2010 City Celebration."
