Sunset+Vine announced that it will continue to broadcast the two major pre-Wimbledon tournaments at Eastbourne and Birmingham up to and including 2013.
The five-year-deal with the Lawn Tennis Association means Sunset+Vine will be the LTA’s host broadcaster for the two leading grass competitions, which always have a heavy bearing on the world’s most famous tournament.
Pictures from Eastbourne and Birmingham will be distributed globally, with both tournaments live on Eurosport, while the BBC will show action from Eastbourne.
It is the second consecutive year Sunset+Vine has covered the two tournaments and Chairman Jeff Foulser said: “We are delighted to be working with the LTA for the next five years on these important pre-Wimbledon tournaments.
“They are an established part of the tennis calendar and our pictures will be transmitted all round the world.
“It looks like being a great summer for British tennis, and hopefully we can bring some of the best action to tennis enthusiasts and novices alike for the next five years.”
Bruce Philipps, LTA Director of Communications & Commercial said: “We are delighted to be working with Sunset+Vine who have demonstrated a real willingness to work closely with us as we look to provide the best possible coverage for tennis fans in the UK”.
The AEGON Classic is staged within the intimate grounds of Edgbaston Priory Club, a stone’s throw from the heart of Birmingham. Previous winners include Maria Sharapova, Jelena Jankovic and Chris Evert.
Devonshire Park in Eastbourne provides the idyllic setting for the AEGON International, a combined ATP and WTA event. The list of former winners include Justine Henin, Amelie Mauresmo and 9 times Wimbledon champion, Martina Navratilova.
