Seven hotels and hotel management companies selected by the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee in May have officially signed on to provide accommodation service for the Athletes' Village and Media Village during the 16th Asian Games.
The Athletes' Village and Media Village located at the Guangzhou Asian Games Town will consist of 74 single buildings with 16,872 rooms. They are expected to accommodate more than 14,000 athletes and team officials and more than 8,000 media representatives.
A zone-based management model will be adopted by seven accommodation service providers for four zones in the Athletes' Village offering three-star service and three zones in the Media Village providing four-star service.
General Managers will be on duty before July 1, 2010; team leaders will begin duty before July 15, 2010 with the remaining team members on call before October 10, 2010.
