Renovation of 11 Asian Games venues begins 26/06/2009 |

The renovation of 11 Asian Games venues owned by the Guangdong Provincial Government has got underway. A ceremony was held yesterday at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre to launch the project, which will cost approximately 400 million yuan, according to Guangzhou Daily.
The 11 venues to be renovated include the Main Stadium and affiliated stadiums at Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre; Baseball/Softball Field, Shooting Range, Archery Range, Equestrian Venue and Hockey Field at Guangdong Olympic Sports Centre; Guangdong International Rowing Centre; Guangdong Gymnasium; Guangdong People's Stadium; Wrestling Venue at Guangdong Heavy Athletics Gymnasium; Guangdong Water Sports Centre (Shanwei).
Yang Naijun, Deputy Secretary General of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and Director General of the Administration of Sports of Guangdong Province, attended the launch ceremony for the project.
