Football`s governing body - FIFA commended the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) yesterday at Ellis Park, for an exceptional 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup broadcast. FIFA also proclaimed its satisfaction with the Public Broadcaster`s ability to provide quality match broadcast to a global audience which provided perfect picture quality and outstanding radio production.
Niclas Ericson, Head of FIFA TV highlighted that FIFA used the SABC`s broadcasting resources to provide images to global audiences which resulted in local and international record viewership figures.
"As the official broadcaster of the 2010 (and 2014) FIFA World Cup tournaments, the SABC seeks to align itself with international standards and deliver a world class broadcast with projects that are entertaining and empowering, whilst championing the nation`s readiness and the African agenda", says Peter Kwele General Manager 2010.
