The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and KhattarWong have signed an Official Sponsorship Agreement, under which KhattarWong will be the Official Legal Services Sponsor for the inaugural Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010).
Under the Agreement, KhattarWong's Sports Law Practice Group will provide legal services and assistance on a wide range of subjects for the organisation and management of the Games.
"The planning and organisation of an international multi-sport event such as the Youth Olympic Games is complex. KhattarWong will come onboard to provide its legal expertise and advice in contractual and Intellectual Property matters, among others. We are encouraged by KhattarWong's commitment, and we believe its involvement will also contribute to the development of the local sport law industry. With strong partners like KhattarWong, we are confident that we will be able to deliver a successful Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games," says Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC.
"We are extremely proud and honoured to be the Official Legal Services Provider for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games," says Mr Tan Chong Huat, Managing Partner of KhattarWong.
'KhattarWong's involvement in Singapore 2010 reflects our continuing and deep commitment to playing a key role in the development of sports and sports business in Singapore and the region. We have made available our Sports Law expertise to various businesses for many years, including advising the Singapore Sports Council and various National Sports Associations. It was a natural step up for us to take up the sponsorship for legal services to the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and SYOGOC to be in-line with our initiatives to contribute to the community in Singapore.
"We are greatly excited to be playing such an integral role in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, and are proud to be able to contribute to the aspirations of our young sports talents."
KhattarWong's sports law practice includes Senior Partner Rajan Menon and IOC Women and Sport Trophy recipient Annabel Pennefather, the firm's Senior Consultant. They drive the practice group and will be heavily involved in the provision of the legal services for SYOGOC.
