Ten Sports has announced its launch in Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
The sports channel has also renewed its license agreement with Telkomvision in Indonesia as it is on an expansion drive into emerging markets of the Pacific region.
The company announced that Ten Sports is now available via Digicel's Cable Pacific for Tonga and on Hitron in Papua New Guinea.
The new service enables viewers from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Tonga to view international cricket matches from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe to which Ten Sports holds rights of.
Ten Sports VP international sales Mark Denton said, "We are delighted to be able to offer Ten Sports to the cricket starved audiences across the Pacific region which have traditionally found great difficulty in accessing such services and we are confident that this is the first of many such deals in the region."
Digicel CEO David Butler added, "This is a momentous occasion for Digicel Tonga, as we are the first country to launch Digitv in the Pacific region. We acquired the TV business 12 months ago and have invested extensively to create a world class television service."
Dubai-based Taj Television-owned Ten Sports claims availability in more than 75 million cable and satellite homes in over 75 territories.
