The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is launching a project to speed up and centralise administrative activities via a single, instant-access online platform.
Breakthrough
The complexity of modern-day football and the immensity of administrative tasks are driving technological developments. The RFEF has embraced these advances to improve its organisation via the Fénix project, supported by UEFA's HatTrick assistance programme. It represents a giant stride forward, not only at management and administrative levels but also in the way tasks are assigned to regional associations and their various departments.
Single, standard database
The aim of Fénix is to deliver a service platform integrating all the central management processes of the RFEF and its regional associations. It will be a one-stop shop for football administration procedures, with three tactical objectives: to standardise central management processes; to quicken communication between the different administrative bodies by centralising management information in a single database; and to speed up administrative operations involving players and clubs in regional associations by facilitating remote access to the service platform. Procedures will be more direct, shorter, quicker and cheaper.
Working online
Fénix should also improve efficiency by centralising data and giving access to reliable information online. Working online will enable clubs and players to effect any procedure at any time; online confirmation will mean an instant response is received to help prevent fraud; having all operations centralised on a single platform will further reduce costs; and security will be guaranteed by safe and accurate mechanisms.
Unification
Fénix will cover all day-to-day operations relating to the management of Spain's football bodies, such as licensing. Here the project will smooth the processes between the RFEF, the regional associations and their local offices, the national professional football league and the national futsal league.
Vast archive
The extensive project will also bring together the administration of all competitions. It will record cards and disciplinary measures imposed on players and assist the various committees; furnish information on the activities of the national squads and all matches played in Spain (26,000 each week) – supplying material to document the history of Spanish football; monitor those who have obtained qualifications and the training they receive; and offer a highly rigorous means of identifying members.
Information bank
In short, Fénix will unify all data on licences, cards and disciplinary measures, match reports, regional and national squad selections, the referees committee, coaches, academies, qualifications and competitions, with publications and the RFEF website also accessible.
