The African members with the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) guaranteed full support to Angola and South Africa, countries that will host, in 2010, the continental and world competitions of football respectively.
The decision emerged from the 20th Regional Conference of the organisation, recently held in Cairo (Egypt) that was also attended by an Angolan delegation led by the executive delegate for Africa, Eduardo Cerqueira.
Eduardo Cerqueira, also director of National Criminal Investigation Department (DNIC), told Angop Tuesday that the initiative aims to contribute to the smoothly development of preparation and holding of the very important events, ensuring, therefore, their success and the pride of the continent's children.
The participants also called, on the other hand, for the assistance of the international community in combating the different criminal phenomenon in Africa, in particular the organised crime and terrorism.
Angop also learnt that the participants praised the German initiative over the implementation of the project dubbed "OHASIS", which has already benefited 12 African countries and also aimed at widening and improving the access to the communication’s technical equipments of INTERPOL.
The meeting called on the concerned authorities of the African countries to intensify the mobilisation of the society against the dangers and damage that cause the trading of forged pharmacy products.
The event gathered INTERPOL chairperson, Police general commanders of Singapore, Kuoo Bon, as well as its secretary-general, the US Ronal Noble.
