The Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) has started accepting individual and corporate business contributions from wednesday through December 31, 2010.

Accepting individual and business financial contributions is a common practice for major sporting events in the world. By making personal contributions, the public will be able to directly get involved in and support the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games. GAGOC hopes that more people at home and internationally will become defacto "participants" in the Games.

GAGOC will observe the following policy in accepting contributions:

1. All contributions are to be made by individuals and business corporations;

2. All contributions shall be legal assets of the contributor and the contribution shall not infringe the rights of a third party;

3. All contributions shall be made gratis for public welfare and the contributor may not pursue benefits through commercial activities.

When making personal contributions, GAGOC is the legal recipient for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and no other organisations or individuals can accept any Games-related contributions.

Currency is the leading form of contributions that GAGOC can accept, while goods, technologies and services may also be contributed. Funds shall be contributed as remittances, and goods can be contributed by appointment.

The account number and bulletin for public contributions will be announced on the Games' official website and official magazine.

When contributions are made, upon the contributors' permission, GAGOC will offer public thanks, certificates, Games-themed souvenirs or Games tickets... pending the amount of the contributions.
