From 01 July 2010, Hamburger SV will play its home games at the 'Imtech Arena': Germany's leading plant engineering and technical building services contractor is set to succeed HSH Nordbank as the name-giver for the HSV's home pitch. As well as the new logo on the arena, the partnership includes a number of other measures, including the presentation of the company name on the signage throughout the arena, on video hoardings, the upper stands and the HSV team bus.
Hamburger SV Chairman Bernd Hoffmann said: "We have developed a very intensive and successful partnership with Imtech over many years, so I am especially pleased about its extension to include the naming rights for our arena. Imtech is a historic, multinational company whose origins lie in Hamburg and which is deeply rooted in our city. This makes Imtech an ideal partner for HSV. The signing of such a contract in this kind of economy reflects very well on HSV and its charisma. I am convinced that this courageous step will pay off for Imtech."
"Acquiring the naming rights to the Imtech Arena is the logical next step in our partnership with HSV. Our experience as an exclusive partner has been excellent to date, both in terms of raising our profile and in building and cultivating our networks with customers and partners. We will use the naming right and the ancillary rights included with it to further build our public image in Germany and Europe, and will work with the people at HSV to develop measures that will further strengthen Imtech's internal and external image as a reliable, motivating employer," said Klaus Betz, CEO of Imtech Germany.
"As a pioneer of this form of advertising in Germany, we are delighted to have won Imtech, a historic company that is based in Hamburg, as the new name-giver. The past few years have clearly shown the vast and broad impact that naming rights have for a sponsor. I firmly believe that both partners will profit from this new, long-term cooperation," emphasised Philipp Hasenbein, Managing Director of SPORTFIVE.
