Bogotá's bid for the 2015 Pan American Games received a positive report from the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) Evaluation Commission on its bid, following the commission's recent visit to the city. Bogotá has been approved to continue as a 2015 Pan American and Para Pan American Games Candidate City.
Julio Cesar Maglione, head of the Evaluation Commission, said that it "is admirable the commitment that the national and city governments have regarding the city's aspiration to be host of the Pan American Games". The commission was also very satisfied with the current sports infrastructure in Bogotá and affirmed that there is a lot of enthusiasm in the city for the Games, said a press release.
Bogotá is competing against Lima and Toronto for the 2015 Games. The final decision will be made in Guadalajara in early November.
