The Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) has announced Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) as the Official Multimedia Services Partner for the inaugural Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010) and is now one of the Tier 1 sponsors to come on board for Singapore 2010.

As part of its sponsorship, SingTel will provide fixed and mobile telecommunication services, internet and leased lines services to support the voice and data communications needs during Games time at all venues. In addition, SingTel will supply software for the development of website and mobile application services and provide the relevant data centre infrastructure required to ensure proper storage of key applications and systems deployed for the Games.

With SingTel on board, we are confident of organising an efficient and a successful Games," said Mr Goh Kee Nguan, Chief Executive Officer of SYOGOC.

On SingTel’s involvement in the world’s first-ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG), its Group CEO Ms Chua Sock Koong said, “This is yet another superb opportunity for Singapore and SingTel to showcase our brands and capabilities in the international sporting arena. For SingTel, our support is also well aligned with our efforts to reach out to the youth segment of our customer base."

Singapore 2010 is an event which integrates sport, culture and education. The YOG was created to educate and engage young athletes, inspiring them to play an active role in their communities. "The Games embody the spirit of friendship and fair competition, and for the athletes, it is about excelling and challenging the best in the field. This resonates with SingTel as teamwork, integrity, personal excellence and challenger thinking are all part of our corporate core values," said Ms Chua.
