Reuters reports the Spanish cities of Zaragoza, Huesca and Jaca have agreed to make a joint bid for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, the regional government of Aragon said Thursday.
Jose Angel Biel, vice president of the region in north eastern Spain, said Aragon would work with the national government and the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) to make sure the bid was successful.
The Aragon government released a statement saying the three cities had decided not to bid for the 2018 Winter Games because the 2014 Games are in Sochi and the Games were unlikely to be given to Europe twice running.
