Quebec is gearing up to make a bid for the 2022 or 2026 Winter Olympics.
According to reports in the Canadian press, Claude Rousseau – president of Major Junior Hockey League team the Quebec Remparts – is being lined up to head what is being called “Team Quebec”.
Rousseau and his team would have to ensure that the city has good enough sports facilities to attract top-quality competitions in the run up to an eventual bid.
Quebec lost out on the 2002 and 2010 Games but recently unveiled plans for a new $400m, 18,000-seat arena.
