Organisers of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics have been wooing more than 500 British businesses at a special summit in London.
Russia signed a host-to-host partnership deal with the UK in the summer as hosts of the 2014 Winter Olympics and 2012 Olympics respectively in a bid to facilitate business opportunities between the two countries.
Speakers at the 2012 Games Business Summit at London’s ExCel Centre included Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, London 2012 Chairman Seb Coe and London Mayor Boris Johnson.
The speakers encouraged businesses to make the most of the “unique opportunities” available to them through major international events, including the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.
