US Speed Skating director steps down |
US Speed Skating executive director Bob Crowley has resigned after the American team fell short of its medal target at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Former Park City mayor Brad Olch will take over the cash-strapped organisation as interim director, it has been announced.
US Speed Skating's biggest cash sponsor, Dutch bank DSB, declared bankruptcy in October. Television host Stephen Colbert helped get the US skaters to the Olympics by adopting the team as a sponsor and helping raise more than $300,000.
